YES, patch testing is necessary, it is a legal requirement. Patch testing can be seen as an inconvenience to many guests, receiving questions like “I’ve had colour for years, so I don’t need one?” or “I had one at my previous salon, so I know I’m fine” to “I’ll be fine, if anything happens I won’t blame you.”
Hair salons will use a patch test to ensure the safety of their clients by using a small amount to see if the Paraphenylenediamine in the hair dye causes a reaction on the skin. A patch test is only required when hair dye comes into contact with the scalp.
Leave it on for 48 hours before washing off. You shouldn’t even notice it’s there, there may be a tiny dot of product residue visible but no marks or redness if your test is normal.
You CANNOT shower until AFTER removal of the patch tests on DAY 2, which is 48 hours later. If any patches loosen during the test period, you can add additional tape, but do not replace any existing tape. Minor itching is normal under the patches. If the itching is severe or there is burning, please call the office.
A full Balayage takes between 3 – 5 hours on average to finish. Since the technique is applied by hand and no two Balayages are the same, the amount of time can vary greatly. Longer and thicker hair will take longer.
With balayage you tend to paint the colour on from the mid-lengths to the ends. With highlights, the hair is saturated with colour from roots to the ends. If you want a balanced, blended and softer look then balayage is for you.
Nikki says, “For traditional highlights, clients tend to come back between 6-8 weeks, but when balayage is done a client can go anywhere between 3-4 months.” Jessica tells us, “With balayage, you can go anywhere from 2-6 months without touching up.
While both balayage and babylights produce very natural looks, babylights will give you a brighter blonde. As a matter of fact Babylights are applied with foils the way traditional highlights are, but the difference is that you color much smaller sections of hair, and the sections are much closer together.

Ombré is a dramatic, two-toned hair color effect that is typically darker at the top and lighter on the bottom. Balayage is a technique of hand-painting or sweeping hair color along the surface of the hair.
The style works for all colours but, ‘the only thing is it won’t cover grey hair,’It will only help blend in the grey to disguise it so if you want full coverage for greys it might not be the right choice for you.
Hair botox is completely free of chemicals, while some Keratin treatment contains formaldehyde. Many stylists have started using Keratin treatments without formaldehyde, but it’s important to check beforehand, as this chemical is suspected human carcinogen.
Though a hair botox treatment helps rebuild damaged hair bonds, it doesn’t offer straightening benefits. However, it does make the hair soft, smooth, and shiny that appear straighter than its natural texture.
Can I Get Keratin and Hair Botox Together? Yes, those with very thick curly hair who want their hair straight with a shiny, healthy look are perfect for doing the two together.
Keratin treatments can help repair damaged hair, making it stronger and less prone to breakage. However, if treatments are done too often, it can eventually lead to hair damage.
A color consultation is an appointment with a hair stylist in which the client explores hair dye options. During a color consultation, the stylist shows his or her client swatches of dyed hair or pictures to help decide what color is best.

It is absolutely necessary that you and your colorist be on the same page before you start the process.
Virgin hair is a hair colorist’s dream because it’s also much easier to color hair that doesn’t already have dye on it. Colorists also get excited over virgin hair because of its strength, which is due to the fact that it’s never been damaged by chemicals.
Balayage works best on natural or virgin hair because it lifts much easier than previously color treated hair. But if you want to achieve the “balayage look” with higher levels of lift, your stylist may use a foilayage technique so that you can have the same look with a higher lift to remove warmth and brassy tones
On average, a salon will charge £100 per hour for a color correction. It may seem a little pricey, but your stylist will be using a TON of color to get you to your hair goal, and it takes up the majority of your stylists’ day, which means they likely won’t be able to see other clients.
